Mandatory attendance in a public school, private school, or home school program shall be required for children between their sixth and sixteenth birthdays. Such mandatory attendance shall not be required where the child has successfully completed all requirements for a high school diploma.
Truancy Intervention Panel (TIP)
The Chattahoochee County School District’s School Social Work Department sought to create a process that would facilitate the coming together of key stakeholders to discuss critical elements of a student’s educational experience as well as attendance. There is a strong correlation between truancy and academic success.
Truancy Intervention Panel seeks to intervene early to provide stakeholders with greater opportunities to alter outcomes; hopefully, increasing the possibility for higher academic achievement.
The Chattahoochee County School District seeks to provide an academically rigorous, caring and safe educational environment in partnership with families, students, and the community. The Truancy Intervention Program aims to support this through improving attendance of all students in need of assistance.
