What is Chattahoochee Valley College and Career Academy?

Chattahoochee Valley College and Career Academy is a specialized charter school established by a partnership which demonstrates a collaboration between business, industry, and community stakeholders to advance workforce development between the Chattahoochee County School board of education, in cooperation with Columbus Technical College and Columbus State University.


Who can attend Chattahoochee Valley College and Career Academy?

10th through 12th grade Chattahoochee County students.

What is a program of study?

A program of study includes:

  • CTAE sequenced career pathway

  • the possible secondary academic courses

  • End of Pathway Assessment links and references to possible Industry-Recognized Credentials, State Licensure exams, Occupational Skill exams, or State-Developed exams,

  • Move on When Ready Dual Enrollment Opportunity courses,

  • Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) courses, Diploma, Associates Degree, and the link to USG Baccalaureate Program of Study web site.

How is the CVA funded?

Through the Chattahoochee County School System and generous business/industry sponsorships. 


What is Dual Enrollment?

Dual Enrollment allows Georgia high school students to be dual-enrolled in their high school and college level classes at the same time. By doing so, these students can earn literally years' worth of college credit and/or a technical degree, diploma or certification. These students enjoy FREE tuition, FREE use of books and any college resource. Visit the Columbus Technical College website for more information.


Who can participate in Dual Enrollment?

Primarily available for any eligible 10th, 11th or 12th grade, high school students may enroll full-time or part-time in approved credit-bearing college-level courses by the State Board of Education. Courses may be taken before, during or after regular school hours, on college campus, online or at high school.
